One beautiful thing about not owning a TV is that it frees up time for better things - like reading and meditating on God’s Word. I’ve been reflecting on Luke 8 since yesterday, specifically the Parable of the Sower. Verse 15 says:
“But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.” — Luke 8:15 NIV
And in the New living translation:
“And the seeds that fell on the good soil represent honest, good-hearted people who hear God’s word, cling to it, and patiently produce a huge harvest.” — Luke 8:15 NLT
From this I have learned: If I want to be the good soil, and I do, I must be honest, with a noble and good heart. I can’t just hear God’s Word. I must actively listen to it, retain it, and cling to it. Then, and only then, by patiently persevering through life’s trials, will I produce a huge harvest for the Lord.
This is a high and wonderful calling. I'm so grateful for the urging of the Spirit to meditate on it since yesterday.
In the first half, attorney Sean Maloney from Second Call Defense joins me to explain the lessons gun owners can learn from what happened to Kyle Rittenhouse.
In the second half, I discuss a home invasion case from Oceanside California in which the homeowner successfully defended himself.
