Last night, after having worked all day, I received a message that the drains at one of our rentals had backed up and filled the sinks with very stinky black sludge filled water. So much for a quite dinner at home.
I got in the truck (skipping dinner) and drove over there. The plumber arrived shortly thereafter. Unfortunately, the plumber accidentally flooded the kitchen while trying the clear the drains. No big deal. He got the water cleaned up and went back to work.
Four hours later the plumbing issue was resolved, and the mess cleaned up. It was 10:30PM. Since the cabinets and flooring had gotten wet, I needed to air things out. I drove back home, grabbed the water damage drying fans out of the shop and drove back. It's about a 30 minute drive each way. By the time I got the fans set up and drove home it was well after midnight. I was tired.
This may seem like a big pain in the rump, but here's what you don't know. We're leaving next week to spend the next two or three weeks at our place in Arizona. God blessed us tremendously last night. He made sure that this issue happened this week while I was here to deal with it. Had it happened next week, I would have been over 500 miles away at an off-grid property in the White Mountains.
Thank you, Lord. What a blessing!
