Some folks have accused me of failing to take the storm warnings seriously yesterday. Not so. Our portable generator was on standby, fueled up, and connected to the electrical transfer box on the house - we had 50 gallons of fuel available - our Jackery solar generators were fully charged - we also had 40 gallons of propane set aside - three submersible water pumps were ready to go - our vehicles were fueled up - our pantry was full - my HAM radio and satellite communicator were at the ready - etc., etc.
All of that was in place without our having to run around at the last minute. We've lived through multiple devastating wildfires, earthquakes, tropical storms, and civil unrest. Of course, we took it seriously and we always remain prepared. I just don't appreciate the media fearmongering and having the government try to shut down everything.
